Serial Document Input

Input > Serial input > New documents

This function enables you to integrate general data into the database retroactively.

Open the Input tab and select Serial input > New documents.

As you can integrate several files at once, you need to assign a key for the document name. You can do this either with the Number Generator (GENUMMER.EXE program in .../exe directory) or via a user-defined text. Proceed as follows:

  1. Activate the required option beneath Document number. Choose User-defined if you want to create the document name via a user-defined text and an ascending number.
  2. Enter the text and a start number. The user-defined text will be supplemented with the ascending number.
  3. If you want all documents to be assigned to a particular project, you can select this project in the Project number input field. If desired, enter a Designation in the same-named input field, or choose a predefined one from the drop-down list*.
  4. Click Browse... to select the files you want to include in the database.
  5. Activate the Write log file checkbox if you want to record the process. Click Path... to choose a storage location for the log file.
  6. Click OK to start the transfer to the database.

Choose the Workflow object type:

The files will then be copied into the database with their master data. The original files will not be linked to the new documents and can be deleted if required.

* If a mapping for the attribute "Benennung" (=Designation) has been entered in the system file hel_fileattributes.ini, no manual inputs in the Designation input field will be possible. The input field will be greyed out in such cases.
