User Master Data
EDBSETUP.EXE > User > User > Master data
If you want to add new users or change existing ones, select User > User > Master data.
- To create a new user, click Add. The User master data window will be displayed.
- Text specified for Name will appear in the Edited by field when you create a new drawing.
- Use the Proxy field to activate or deactivate entered users.
- New users are supposed to enter their new Windows password in the User name (Operating System) field.
- Use the Open function to link data to a graphics file. All common pixel formats can be used.
- Enter the master data of the new user and save with OK.
After saving, the initial mask will be displayed again, enabling you to assign the new user to groups and grant rights.
- Activate the Edit function in the Group Membership field. The Group membership window will be displayed.
- Select the required groups. Use the arrow keys to add or delete groups.
If the user has been assigned to several groups, you can specify one of them as the default group with which the user is always signed on. The marked group will be selected as the default group after saving. The group will be indicated by an asterisk.
You can also change the status of a user. The status specifies the rights of the individual group members, independent of the rights of the group.

- Specify the Status of a marked user with Save.
- Confirm the settings with OK.
You are returned to the initial mask after saving and you can then grant access authorisations (permissions), so-called User functions, to the user. These functions specify if an object may be viewed, created, changed or deleted.
The object name is shown in front of the authorisations. In this case the objects are either predefined or customised workflows that determine the process chain of an object, e.g. HiCAD 3-D drawings. These access functions are only valid if an access right has been granted for World in the workflow.
- Activate the Edit function in the User Functions field. The User functions window will be displayed.
- Specify the rights. Use the arrow keys to add or delete rights.
- Save the granted rights with OK.
You have now created a new user, granted rights and assigned a group to him.
Use the Copy button in the User Management dialogue to copy the currently selected user, together with all his/her group memberships and permissions. In the next dialogue window for User Properties , change the designation in the Name field and confirm with OK. A copy with the new name will then be created and appears in the selection.
