HELiOS Spooler Options: Server
On the Server tab you can view the central server settings for the Host computer and the Port.
The Host name must be the name with which the computer can be addressed from other workstations on the network. The Port number is freely selectable, but must not be locally blocked by the firewall.
Beneath Server start you can specify how the Spooler Service is to be executed in your system. Normally, it is a Windows Service. Bit if you require an "interactive" Server start, select Direct instead. (please also red the notes on Spooler installation).
The options beneath Auto-cleanup of done jobs determine how done print jobs are to be removed from the system:
- Clean-up check interval (min.): The value specified here determines the intervals in which the Spooler checks the done jobs.
- Max. number of jobs: The maximum number of jobs stored in the system. Jobs exceeding this limit will be deleted during the clean-up check.
- Max. days for jobs: The maximum number of days that done jobs will remain in the system. Jobs exceeding this limit will be deleted during the clean-up check.
- Remove failed jobs: If you want to delete not only successful, but also failed print jobs from the Spooler, activate this checkbox.
If none of the options has been activated, no old jobs will be deleted at all.
Beneath Add-ins you can click the symbol to add further Add-ins, or
to delete them again.
The settings on this tab should only be changed if this has been expressly requested, or if this is absolutely necessary. After a moving of the system to another computer, for example, the name must be corrected, as it has been saved in the configuration. If an incorrect name has been entered, the PrintClient cannot correctly communicate with the Server.
