HELiOS User and Workflow Configuration (EDBSETUP)
The workflow of a document depends on the User Management and the Workflow Management.
- User Management Functions
- Registration of users
- Combine users to work groups
- Grant and withdraw rights and functions for PDM objects (documents, projects, articles etc.)
- Evaluation of the individual access rights (read, write, delete) in PDM objects on group level or directly for the user
- Workflow Management Functions
An essential task of the Workflow Management is the illustration and control of company processes or the workflows of documents within a company.

Starting the HELiOS Configuration
The EDBSETUP.EXE program in the ...\exe directory (default directory) enables you to define User Management and Workflow Management to suit your particular field of application. Up to a 100 user-definable statuses are available enabling you to set arbitrary test steps.
Depending on the current test step, the progress of a document is tracked from its start status (e.g. In Progress) which is assigned to the document when it is created, as well as a sequence of further statuses, depending on the current test step.
- Start the EDBSETUP.EXE program from the ...\exe (default name) directory
- Login as Administrator using your Windows password.
You can also enter hicad as the user name if the user has been granted PDM rights by the administrator, i.e. hicad is a member of of the PDM administrator group. The password is therefore the equivalent of the password of the Windows user hicad.
