Weld Seam Test Protocol

Drawing > Itemisation/Detailing > BOM > Weld seam test protocol

Use the functions

to display the scope of a weld seam inspection in the form of a weld seam test protocol. The test protocol contains, for each execution class and inspection category acc. to DIN EN 1090, the total length of the weld seams.

The test protocol can be generated for the entire drawing or for the active assembly.

For this to happen, the following requirements must be met:

Assign execution class according to DIN EN 1090

To assign the execution class, activate the 3-D Standard tab and select Tools > Attr. .

If your HiCAD product contains the Steel Engineering module, the attribute mask for assemblies will have the Execution class field. Here you can select the execution class according to DIN EN 1090. The default setting is EXC2 (DIN EN 1090). If desired, the default setting can be changed in the Configuration Editor, at ... > Modelling > Weld seams.

Assign inspection category

The assigning of the inspection category takes place during insertion or processing of weld seams. This also applies to weld seams that belong to connections based on Design Variants. In the corresponding dialogue windows, you will find the Inspection category list box, from which you select the short designations predefined by the ISD for the test procedure according to DIN EN 1090. These inspection categories have been predefined in the Configuration Editor, at ... > Modelling > Weld seams.

Output of test protocol

When you call the function, the following dialogue window (similar to that for BOM generation) will be displayed:

A predefined configuration file for the Report Manager,

hicad_weld_inspection.RMS.

is available. Click Continue to start the test protocol generation.

The output will consist of:

The attributes transferred to the Report Manager contain, for each weld seam, the inspection category in the form of the corresponding ID.

The BOMs will be saved to the same directory and with the same name as the current drawing file. The file extension is .SZA.RM2 or .SZA.RM3, respectively.

The Weld seam test protocol sheet contains, for each execution class and inspection category, the total length of the corresponding weld seams, thus enabling a determining of the scope of the test. The Scope of non-destructive test sheet contains the legend with the plain texts for the abbreviations of the inspection categories. The Excel file will be saved to the same directory and with the same name as the current drawing file. The file extension is .Script.G.XLSM.
