Project: Variant Editor

Variant Types (VAD_Editor)

The Variant Editor enables you to process simple variants and structured variants.

A HiCAD variant that is a base variant or has been derived from a base variant is called a structured variant. A base variant is a variant whose structure is described in a Base variant definition. You can specify the Base variant definition file currently required for the Variant Editor under Settings.

HiCAD variants that are no base variants or have been derived from a base variant are called simple variants.

Depending on the variant type, HiCAD will display the appropriate user interface for the variant.
