Derive New Variant

Select this option to derive a new variant from an existing variant.

Select the source VAD file for the new variant.
Initially, the name UnKNOWN is displayed for the new variant in the dialogue box of the Variant Editor. After saving of the new variant, the chosen name will automatically be shown here.
If necessary, change the Designation. If the variant is structured, the source base variant of the new variant is displayed for Options, while HiCAD Variant is always displayed for simple variants.
The program copies all data belonging to the given VAD file to a temporary processing file. The first time you save the new variant, the program creates all relevant files.
