2-D IGES

IGES - an acronym for "Initial Graphics Exchange Specification" - is an interface developed for the United States National Bureau of Standards to enable the transfer of geometric data between diverse CAD/CAM systems primarily in the area of mechanical design.

IGES files can be read by HiCAD, processed and released for data exchange.


Load IGES files

Drawing > New/Open > Open > 2-D IGES

In order to import an IGES file, proceed as follows:

  1. Activate the function
  2. Choose the .IGS file format, then select the required file.


Save IGES files

Drawing > Save/Print... > Save as > 2-D IGES

To export an IGES file, proceed as follows:

  1. Activate the function.
  2. Enter the maximum coordinate. Set 1 if you want the maximum coordinate to be set automatically or 0 to take it over.
  3. Enter a file name.
