Insert Symbol from Another Library

P+ID Library > Symbol > Insert symbol from another library

This function enables you to fetch a symbol from another library and insert it in the currently open library under a new name.

Proceed as follows:

1. Select the library containing the symbol you want to take over.
2. If you want to display symbol graphics, select the symbol group containing the required symbol, or, if you want to select the symbol via its name, click Symbol list.

If you select a symbol, it will be zoomed. You can then decide whether you want to take it over or not.

3. Specify the name you want to assign to the symbol in the active library.
4. Select the symbol group, to which a copy of the selected symbol should be assigned, with the cross-hairs or from the symbol group selection list.
5. Place the symbol (hanging on the cross-hairs) inside the frame of the selected group.

HiCAD now asks if the position is correct. If you respond with No, you can repeat group selection and symbol positioning.

6. Respond with Yes to complete the function.
