When a symbol is removed from its old position, links existing via the symbol are deleted and, whenever possible, re-created. This is however only possible for links of the same type.

If the connecting points of a symbol are set on an existing symbol, connections on the existing symbol are initially deleted and, whenever possible, recreated via the inserted symbol. If it is a pipe connection and the moved symbol is a Pipe part type, it is automatically assigned to the pipeline symbol to which the connection belongs. This has the same effect on the data mask of the shifted symbol as that described above for direct connections.
