Project: HiCAD P+ID

AutoSave of Data

Automatic data saving in P+IDs affects three different object types:

This option corresponds to the interactive Save sheet function, i.e. the program asks whether a sheet should be saved or tells you that the sheet has been saved. Sheets are saved to the PID\WORK\Number of drawing thumbnail] sub-directory.
If the program is improperly ended, the sheet is in the state in which it was last saved and can be loaded in the normal way.

When you open a symbol library, a temporary copy with the name ELTMPBIB is created for processing. The Automatic Data Save stores the each processing stage of the open library in this copy.
If the program is improperly ended, the interrupted process is automatically continued the next time you start HiCAD.

The respective stages of library symbol processing are saved, under the symbol name X_SICSYM, to auxiliary library X_SICBIB in the \PID\WORK\Number of drawing thumbnail] sub-directory.

If the program is improperly ended during symbol processing, you need to proceed as follows:

  1. If you are working with the database, switch it temporarily off.
  2. Call the Load symbol function and load the symbol from the X_SICBIB library. As there is only one symbol in the library it appears immediately on your screen. A double-click displays the query Take over symbol X_SICSYM?, respond with Yes.
  3. Select the Edit mask function and overwrite the X_SICSYM name with the required symbol name.
  4. If the database was previously open, re-open it. You need to first activate a free window via the ICN, switch the database via the P+ID option on and return to symbol processing.
  5. You can now continue symbol processing.
