Project: HiCAD P+ID

Information + Communication Navigator

If a P+ID project is open, the Information + Communication Navigator displays the following information:

Displays the current sheet designation.

HiCAD displays an additional descriptive text for each 2-D part that has been created or inserted with a P+ID function in the 2-D part structure window of the ICNIf the 2-D part belongs to a P+ID symbol for which a data mask exists in the P+ID, the descriptive text from the data mask will be displayed. Normally, this will be the text that was already supplied as a description for the symbol in the symbol library.

Right-clicking a 2-D part of a P+ID symbol for which a P+ID exists in the database opens a context menu with P+ID functions. For all other parts, the standard 2-D context menu will appear.

Displaying the characteristics of the element selected in the 2-D tab.

A graphical preview of the element selected in the 2-D tab.

A maximum of 18 drawings can be loaded and processed simultaneously. The Switch drawing tab enables you to open several drawings simultaneously and switch between files. The P+ID module is always assigned to the last window (18), i.e. a miniature view of the active sheet of the current project or the current symbol library is displayed.

This tab also allows you to open drawings that do not belong to a P+ID without exiting the P+ID module. If you double-click an empty image tile, you can load the required drawing or create a new one.

To switch from the current drawing to another drawing in the tab, double-click the appropriate tile with the left mouse button.

To remove a drawing from the pane, activate it with a double click of the left mouse button and then select the Close option from the File menu.

You can work with the ICN – including multiple selection – in the way described in the Tutorial for handling 2-D parts.
