Save 2-D Part as HCM Variant

2-D Part > 2-D HCM Constraints > Edit > Save variant...

If you want to save HCM models as a variant, activate the 2-D Part tab and select 2-D HCM Constraints > Edit > Save variant. You can choose between the two options Without database and With database.

Note here that variables need to be assigned when defining the constraints.

If the prompt for the distance is made with the calculator, you need to use the right mouse button to call the next window. Enter a variable, confirm using RET and specify a value in the next window.

All dimensions that are assigned variables can be given new values when the HCM variant is loaded.

To save the variant, select the corresponding function with or without database (see above) and specify a file name.

The active part is saved with its HCM data, with a sketch (.FGA) being automatically created and a parameter data record (.VAD, .DCF) saved.

The created variant can now be inserted into HiCAD drawings like any other variant. You will find the function for this in the menu bar under Insert and in the context menu of the main part in Explorer. Once you have entered the new values, choose OK. The part will appear on the screen for you to define a fitting point. Enter the required data, e.g. the rotation angle if you have chosen the "Rotation" insert mode. Use fitting points to insert the part into the drawing.

When a drawing containing HCM models is saved, a file with extension .ZTC is additionally generated. This file contains the HCM data.
