So-called stepped glass panes can simply be created by a lengthening of the panes. Select the glass pane to be lengthened. Create the lengthening by specifying a start point and an end point.
In the pull-down menu 
you can find further lengthening functions that also allow a lengthening parallel to 3-D coordinate axes, or via a value input.
