Project: HiCAD Sheet Metal

Flap

Sheet Metal > Attach > Flange > Flap

Flaps are created by making a cut-out and then bending the cut-out material to an arbitrary side.

  1. Insert a processing plane (see 3-D Online Help) so as to be able to position the flap.
  2. Activate the sheet to which you want the flap to be fitted.
  3. Activate the Flap function.

Once you have selected the function, the Flap dialogue window is displayed.

  1. Enter the values for the flap parameters and click OK to confirm your entries.

A preview of the flap appears.

  1. Identify a fitting point on the flap, followed by a fitting point in the drawing.
  2. Specify the external connecting edge of the sheet to insert the flange of the flap.

The direction of the bend angle is determined by the connecting edge.

You can now enter the settings for another flap or use Cancel to end the function.
