Edit Arcs for Bent Pipes

Plant Engineering > Part Tools > Pipeline Tools > Change > Edit arcs

With this Editor you can modify arcs in Plant Engineering. You can change arcs for bent pipes, insert segment arcs and perform mitre cuts. The Editor requires a working with guidelines and can also modify unoccupied guideline edges.

To modify an arc, select the two edges involved in the arc. The prerequisite is that both edges are on a common guideline. You can also select the edges by marking an arc edge or a corner. This selection corresponds to the selection of the two adjacent edges.

Several arcs can be selected before the changes are applied. A selection can be removed again by clicking on the symbol.

In all three modes, the Observe maximum lengths checkbox maximum lengths is available. If this is active, the maximum length from the Plant Engineering Settings is taken into account.

Transition by bending

In this mode, the bend radius of a bend can be entered in two ways:

If no unique outside diameter can be determined, the Editor falls back to the second specified value.

Transition by segments

Analogous to the transition by bending, the radius of the segment arc can be specified here as a fixed value or a multiple of the outer diameter. You must also specify the number of arc segments.

When inserting segment arcs, the system tries to automatically assign segments to them. To do this, the two adjacent edges are searched for suitable pipes. If identical pipes are found on both edges, these are extended to form a segment arc, and the corresponding pipe will be placed on the segment arc and mitre cuts are applied. is covered with the corresponding pipe and mitre cuts are made.

If there is a "candidate" on only one edge, it will also be assigned to the segment arc.

An already existing transition can be modified by selecting the adjacent edges.

If more than one pipe is inserted when creating a segment arc, the inserted pipes will be combined in a Segments assembly.

The transition through segments arcs is supported, as is the use of weld gaps.

Transition by mitre cut

The transition by mitre cut corresponds to the transition by segment arcs with 0 segments. This allows converging straight pipes to be cut to size with a mitre cut.
