Insulation Symbols
Isometry + Pipe spool drawing >Symbols
Use these functions to insert or remove insulation symbols. This is also possible if insulation symbols have already been set automatically on the basis of layout plan details. The details in the layout plan will then be ignored.
The following functions for isometries are available:
|
Set insulation |
|
Set pipeline heating/cooling |
|
Set pipeline heating/cooling and insulation |
|
Remove insulation |
Proceed as follows:
- During isometry creation, insulation symbols are automatically generated for existing insulations, however only one symbol per guideline.
- If you do not agree with the position of the symbol, you can use the Set insulation
function to assign a symbol to an arbitrarily chosen edge of the guideline. In this case the automatic symbol assignment will be deactivated for this guideline.
- It is also possible to assign several insulation symbols to a guideline.
- As an alternative to the manual positioning you may also block an edge against insulation symbol insertion by applying the Remove insulation
function to this edge. If no symbols have been assigned to a guideline manually, the assignment will always take place automatically; an exception are edges to which the Remove insulation function has been applied.
- The manual symbol assignment also allows the selection of varying symbols on different edges of the guideline.
- If no insulation has been inserted, you can set a symbol manually anyway. This symbol remains without annotation.
Notes:
- After applying the changes you need to re-generate the isometry in the isometric view. If you regenerate the isometry in the layout plan view, the changes will be discarded.
- If the positioning of insulation/heating symbols is subsequently overwritten in an isometry, HiCAD issues an appropriate warning message, reminding the user of the fact that a re-creation of the isometry is required for this:
By default, the correct symbol is automatically selected if an appropriate insulation information has been set, and is placed on a segment of the pipeline string. If you prefer a different insulation symbol, e.g. on a different pipeline, you can freely select the position by selecting the Set insulation function and clicking of the required segment. In this way you can also assign symbols to several pipe segments, if required. Please note: As soon as an insulation symbol is set on a pipeline manually, no symbols can be set automatically any more.
The opposite case is also possible: You can remove an automatically set insulation symbol, and the appropriate pipe segment will be locked for insulation symbols. As a result, a different pipe segment will be selected when further symbols are set automatically.
