JACOB Pipe Systems - Part Variant Classification

Every parameterised feature variant that was designed for a use in HiCAD Plant Engineering must comply with certain rules ensuring that it can be added with the insertion functions to a pipeline. Besides the required attributes, the position of the connecting points plays an essential role.

As some parts of the JACOB Pipe systems had to be classified contrary to their practical function due to the position of their connecting point, the tables of the topics

will show you the selected classifications (part type) under which the variants are to be found in HiCAD/HELiOS.

Furthermore, the tables contain the file names of the available variant archive files. These can be used as a filter for the search of a particular part in the dialogue window. In round brackets, the file name (without extension) serves as the attribute NORMBEZEICHNUNG (standard designation) of the variants. For instance, you can search for the standard (JACOB_T-STUECK) for the JACOB T-piece. Further details concerning the file name are explained in the topic Order Number and Standard Designation.

Besides a small portion of parts equipped with flanges, most JACOB pipe parts have flanged ends, enabling a connection of parts via pull-rings.The Parts for Pull-Ring Connections table contains the flanged components and fasteners as well as the transition pieces for other connection systems.

In the Parts for Flange Connections table you can find the components with flanges on their ends. In most cases they are flanged parts which are equipped with welded-on loose flanges (LF_A) or loose flanges (LF). The components for flange connections can be recognized by corresponding supplements in the file name. Generally, all variants with DN>1250 are equipped with welded-on flanges, while particular components have welded-on flanges in all of their sub-types due to design-related reasons. The variants equipped with welded-on flanges are, in contrast to the flanged variants, inserted as usual and do not require any fasteners (with the exception of the JACOB Push-in pipe with loose flange)).
