HiddenLine Collision Check
When performing a Hidden Line calculation HiCAD always performs a quick check for possible overlaps and collisions, and, if there are any, corrects them automatically. Alternatively, you can also select a more thorough Hidden Line collision check: To do this, open the context menu for drawings and select Properties > Hidden Line options.
After installation, the quick collision check is active. If you require a more thorough collision check, select Thorough in the listbox of the Hidden Line options dialogue and end the function.
The next Hidden Line calculation will then be performed more thoroughly.
To activate the context menu for drawings, right-click on empty space in the drawing area.
Please note:
- To specify the geometries to be considered for collision checks, open the Configuration Editor and select System settings > Visualisation > Views > Hidden Line > Collision check:
- Straight edges and planar facets (default)
- Straight and circular edges, planar and cylindrical facets.
Intersections of cones and straight lines will even be considered for the collision check if the parameter has been set to straight edges and planar facets.
- We recommend that you apply this change to all of your HiCAD workstations (and for all users) to avoid differing representations of the same drawings within your company. Please also note that differing representations may occur if you pass your drawings to third parties using different registry settings.
- If applied to very large drawings, a thorough collision check may affect the performance during Hidden Line calculation.
