Example: Insert/Lock Data Record

Let us assume that you require hexagon head bolt according to DIN EN ISO 4017 with the dimensions M 6x100 (Material 10.9). The fact that these are not available in the table is not a bug, but due to ISD's compliance with certain standards. You can however use the Catalogue Editor to add bolts and screws with other dimensions to the table.

Let us additionally assume that you do not want the bolt M6x55 to be offered for selection in HiCAD. For such cases, the Catalogue Editor offers the option to lock standard parts that you do not want to be used instead of deleting them. The locking can be applied by a simple change of status.

Insert data record

  1. Open the table DIN EN ISO 4017 in the catalogue FASTENERS > BOLTS+SCREWS > HEX. HEAD BOLTS.

M6x60 (Material 10.9) is the last selection for this bolt type.

  1. Right-click this item and select Copy in the context menu.
  1. Scroll to the bottom of the table, where you will find an empty row.
  2. Right-click this empty row and select Paste.
  1. Now change the value 60 into 100 in each of the columns BZ, Size and LN.
  2. Save the table. The data record will be added to the table. When you re-start HiCAD, the new hexagon head bolt will be available to you for selection.

Lock data record

  1. In the required row, double-click the arrow symbol under STATUS.
  2. Select Delete in the list box.

  1. Save the table. Now the bolt M6X55 can no longer be selected.

If you want to make the bolt available again at a later time, proceed as described above and select the stauts Main series or Sub-series in the listbox.
