REF3D_ATTR_AKT.DAT

The settings from the file REF3D_ATTR_AKT.DAT for the synchronization of part attributes for referenced parts have been moved to the Configuration Editor (ISDConfigEditor.exe). At System settings > Referencing you can find the find the setting option Synchronization of attributes (SYSTEM > Referencing > RefPartAttrUpdate).

If you click on the symbol, a window with a table will be opened, enabling you to specify for each part attribute:

if it is to be updated for sub-parts only,
whether the settings from the Configuration Editor are to be applied, or
whether it is never to be updated.

The ISD default settings (detail)

For the corresponding part attribute a line with the following structure must exist:

Active	Via the checkboxes of this column you can specify for each of the attributes whether it is to be synchronized or not. If you want to activate or deactivate all checkboxes, activate or deactivate the checkbox in the columh header, e.g. . You can also use the functions of the context menu, which you open by right-clicking a table entry.
Name	Here you can find the name of the attribute. Attributes pre-defined by the ISD can also be selected via the selection box. To do this, double-click on the corresponding row and choose the attribute from the list.
Data type	Here you can choose the attribute type (double-click on the row): Integer, Double, String or String (ANSI)
Synchronization option	Here you can select the type of the synchronization. The following options are possible: Never The specified part attribute is never updated. From configuration The setting from the Configuration Editor at System settings > Referencing > Synchronize item numbers/part attributes when updating file will be applied. Sub-parts only The part attribute will only be updated for sub-parts. Main and sub-parts The part attribute will be updated for main parts and sub-parts. Part attributes that do not appear in the table will be updated for main parts and sub-parts.
Comment	Here you can enter a comment text.

To insert further attribute rows, scroll down to the bottom of the table. There, click on the empty row and specify the desired settings. Exit the Attribute synchronization options dialogue window with OK.

The sorting of the table can be changed by clicking on a column header.

Right-click on a table entry to open a context menu whose functions enable you to delete the marked table row and activate or deactivate all checkboxes of the Active column.

Please note:

Up to HiCAD 2017 the settings for attribute synchronization could be found in the system file REF3D_ATTR_AKT.DAT.

If you want to take over the settings from an existing REF3D_ATTR_AKT.DAT file, this can be done via the Open file button. After selecting the file, the settings shown in the Attribute synchronization options dialogue window will be overwritten with those of the selected file. Confirm with OK.

If you have customized the REF3D_ATTR_AKT.DAT file, save the file before performing an update!
