        Steel Engineering Management Using HELiOS

If you are using the PDM system HELiOS to manage your Steel Engineering
drawings, assemblies and parts, you should pay special attention
 to the following notes.

            - Steel Engineering
parts in HELiOS behave like "normal" mechanical engineering production parts.
HELiOS does not have special IDs or settings for them.

            - For each different
production part, a unique article master is generated in HELiOS and assigned to the part and its
identical parts. The Identical Part Search/Itemisation
function carries this out automatically for all newly itemised or calculated
parts, and it applies to both 3-D parts with BOM-relevance and steel
engineering parts. It requires the steel engineering options for itemising
 to be set accordingly.

            - If a drawing for an individual part (detail drawing) exists, it will have a document master linked to the article master, which is automatically generated/updated in the Steel Engineering detail drawing function.

            - If an individual
part is detailed on an assembly drawing, its article master is linked
to the document master of the assembly drawing via the HELiOS link Parts(s) drawing. The Workshop drawing function automatically
 creates this link.

            - If an assembly
is involved, a product structure of it will exist in HELiOS. The Itemisation
function automatically transfers/updates this structure to the entire
drawing, including all sub-assemblies. It requires the article master settings for drawing derivation to be set accordingly.

 Important:
If you use a Steel Engineering suite or a Steel Engineering module in conjunction with HELiOS Engineer, please read the information given in the Management + BIM Online Help!
