Project: HiCAD Interfaces

CoCreate ME10

Drawing > New/Open > Open > STEP, IGES, ....

To load MI files created with the ME10 system, proceed as follows:

  1. Click the ISD Button and select Open.
  2. Select Step, Iges... .
  3. Choose the file format .MI and select the required file.

To load an MI file created with the ME10 system, select the file format .MI and then the requested file.

As it is important to make sure that the file you want to convert is in ASCII format, it is a good idea to use an Editor to check that it is neither in UNIX binary formatnor that it is compressed.

If the Ml file is compressed, it should be decompressed before conversion. For this purpose, the decompression tool DECOMP.EXE is available in the HiCAD BIN directory.

Please note:

When importing ME10 files, hatchings are made according to the settings in the SSME10.DAT system file. You can use this file to specify how the hatchings from ME10 are to be treated in HiCAD.

# Show hatching options?
#  0   Hatching as lines.
#  1   Hatching as contour hatching (part structure is changed)
Hatching 1   #Contour hatching

0 Hatching as lines

The hatchings will be taken over as lines. The hatchings can then no longer be processed with the HiCAD hatching functions. The part structure is retained.

1 Hatching as contour hatching (Default)

The hatchings are taken over as contour hatchings and can be processed with the HiCAD hatching functions. But the part structure will be changed.

The SSME10.DAT file can be found in the HiCAD SYS-directory.
