Update Gauge Symbol

Invoke this function to change the representation of one or more gauge symbols.

The following options are available to change the representation of:

• Individual gauge symbols
• All gauge symbols contained in a specified rectangle
• All gauge symbols on a sheet

HiCAD always expects you to select the new representation, and displays the following selection menu.

When you select the required symbol, HiCAD asks:

Also update number of dividing lines?

If you respond with Yes, the lines dividing the symbol are changed until it corresponds to the representation selected from the menu. If you respond with No, the division of the symbol remain unchanged irrespective of the representation selected in the pop-up menu.

Depending on the selected function, the dialogue is correspondingly continued:

• Individually

Identify the gauge symbol to be changed. When HiCAD up-dates it, you can either pick the next gauge symbol to continue the function, or select ESC (middle mouse button) to exit.

• In rectangle

Specify two points to create a box about the appropriate gauge symbols. All gauge symbols contained in the given box are up-dated. HiCAD then displays the number of symbols that were up-dated.

• Entire sheet

All gauge symbols on the active sheet are updated. HiCAD then displays the number of symbols that were updated.

The following notes apply to all updated symbols:

• If the symbol is not wide enough to accommodate the required text, the symbol width is automatically adjusted to fit the text.
• The position of the connecting points and the length of connections are adjusted as far possible.
