Project: HiCAD P+ID

Load Project

Load project, via Explorer

P+ID > P+ID Project > Load project, via Explorer

In order to process an existing project, you first need to load (i.e. open) it. After activating the function, The Windows file selection dialogue will be displayed. Select the desired project (normally in \PID\PROJECT) and then the RPA file. The project selected in this way is loaded temporarily in the Work directory and recognised as the active project. The last processed P+ID sheet is automatically opened.

It is possible to open several P+IDs in different HiCAD windows. At the same time you can edit a symbol library in another window, and load a symbol library for editing in a further window.

When loading a P+ID project, the RPA file will be locked in the file system. A lock file with the extension "RPA~Lock" will be temporarily generated, to record the user name and the loading time of the P+ID project. If a different user tries to open the P+ID project, access will be denied, and the user currently working on the project will be indicated.

Please note:

When HiCAD needs to restart after an abnormal program termination (e.g. via Task Manager) or a program crash, and switches to the P+ID module, the following

Select No to cancel your work on the data from your working directory. The working directory will then be deleted.

If you select Yes, HiCAD will attempt to load the data from the working directory for further processing. This will happen upon selection of one of the following functions: New project, Load project, (if the work on a project was interrupted), New library, Load library (if the work on a library was interrupted).

Load project, via database (document master)

P+ID > P+ID Project > Load project, via document master

To access a project via the database, select the appropriate document master.

Proceed in the same way as for the loading of a drawing with database in 2-D or 3-D.

Further information on the operation of the database masks can be found in the HELiOS Online Help.
