Project: HiCAD P+ID

Drawing Number

P+ID > Settings > Settings > Drawing No.

The settings in the Drawing No. tab are dependent of the database status:

Without database

Drawing numbers can be automatically generated and inserted in drawing frames.

The setting in the illustrated dialogue box, the first sheet is automatically given the drawing number „ZN-DEMO-01005-A“, and the second „ZN-DEMO-01006-A“, etc. (‚#‘ are wild card characters).

If you select the second option, i.e. from start value and sheet number for Calculation of numeric portion you cannot specify an increment. The numeric portion is calculated from the total of the start value and the sheet number. The sheet number represents the logical position of a sheet within a project, i.e. between 1 and 999. Assuming that a project only contains sheets with the designations „0.0“, „1.0“, „1.1“ and „2.0“, the sheet numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 are returned.

You can also enter a fixed character string in the lower input field. This string should not contain the character ‚#‘ to automatically append a sheet number.

Click OK to take over the given settings. The settings are active the next time you create a new sheet. If one or more sheets exist in the project, you can regenerate sheet numbers for the open project. HiCAD then generates drawing numbers for all sheets contained in the project in accordance with given settings and inserts them in the drawing frames.

With database

If you are working with the database, you can only:

Examples:

  1. The drawing number is taken over from the document attributes of the project and is the same for all sheets.
  2. As for 1, but appends a sheet designation so that a different drawing number is given to each sheet.
