Find Symbol

P+ID > P+ID Sheet > Process > Information > Find symbol

This option enables you to find a flowchart symbol in the active project.

Initially you can enter conditions for the symbol type, sheet designation and optional dialogue types:

You can use the wild card characters * and ? (normal significance) for all conditions given in the dialogue box. Click the Default button to display the default settings in the dialogue box illustrated above.

These options enable you to:

• Enter the sheet designation in the first input field from the top to find a single sheet. You an also use a wild card e.g. enter 4* to find all sheets with a designation beginning with 4.
• If you only want to find a particular type of symbol, select it in the second input field from the top.
• If dialogue text conditions should be assigned to the symbol, select the dialogue type for the conditions in the third field in the left column. Next enter appropriate conditions for respective symbols in the right column.

Example: If you select 4 = Code in the third field of the left column, and *B* in the input field in the right column on the same row. HiCAD then finds all symbols with codes including B.

The search executed on the active project when you click OK returns a list of all symbols that fulfil the given conditions.

Select the Show symbol button to view the P+ID sheet containing the symbol associated with the given row.

Click OK to load and process the P+ID sheet associated with the given row, whereby the selected symbol is highlighted. You can also load a sheet for processing by double-clicking the appropriate row.
