Re-Number P+ID Sheets

P+ID > P+ID Sheet > Process > Renumber sheets

Use this function to re-number the sheets of the active P+ID project. This numbering concerns the sheet designation, but not the drawing number.

The sheet designation is composed of the sheet number, followed by a point and the sheet index.

When a sheet is loaded, it is saved beforehand. In the displayed dialogue window, enter the designation of the sheet with which the re-numbering is to begin. Click Find if you want to select the sheet designation from a list of all sheets of the project.

Double-click the row with the sheet with which the re-numbering is to begin.

If you enter the sheet designation via the keyboard, you only need to enter the sheet number if the desired sheet designation has the index "0", i.e. it will suffice to enter, for instance, 3 instead of 3.0 .

In the second field of the dialogue box, enter the desired sheet designation for the sheet that you specified in the first field. Here you need not enter a sheet index, as it will automatically be set to 0. It will therefore suffice to enter, for instance, 4 instead of 4.0.

Select Cancel if you have decided not to re-number the sheets.

Select OK to perform the re-numbering.

Beginning with the sheet specified in the first field, (=start sheet), this sheet and all following sheets will obtain a new sheet designation. The start sheet will obtain the sheet designation specified in the second sheet. Each of the following P+ID sheets will obtain a sheet designation with a sheets number that is incremented by 1, and a sheet index of 0. The original sheet index will however be retained for sheets containing BOMs.

The sheets will be numbered in the following order:

Example: A re-numbering starting with sheet 3.0; new sheet designation: 4.0

If your P+ID project already contains BOMs or a Project TOC, HiCAD will issue the following message:

This action does NOT update the contents of already created BOMs.

You therefore need to re-create them afterwards.

Re-numbering updates the sheet designations in the title blocks of the already existing BOM sheets, but not the list contents. If a list contains a column with sheet designations, these will remain unchanged. In this case you should delete the lists, and re-generate them after the re-numbering.
You can click:

Please note:

If you have a discontinuation symbol linked to another sheet in the drawing, the sheet numbers will be updated automatically.
