The HCM Model

Create an HCM model

An HCM composite edge model is automatically created if you

Caution: In contrast to the 3-D Parts Constraint Manager, no separate file is created for the parametric data here!

Display of the HCM model in the ICN

In the HCM tab of the ICN, all assigned HCM constraints are shown. There, you can also deactivate individual constraints manually or by means of formulae. Further information can be found in the The HCM Window in the ICN topic.

In the 3-D part structure, C-edge elements containing a HCM model are indicated by a black H against yellow background:

In the Configuration Editor at System settings > Sketch HCM you find the setting option Show HCM errors in part structure?. This function is deactivated by default. If you activate this option, inconsistent HCM models in sketches will be marked in the 3-D structure with a corresponding symbol.

In this case a red H will be shown instead of a black H. This marking will also be applied to superordinate parts and assemblies to indicate the inconsistencies up to the top level of the affected element:

Markings

If you select an HCM constraint in the ICN, the elements that belong to this constraint are marked in the drawing. This marking is also preserved when views are rotated. Corresponding faces of a constraint are marked in green. This default setting (mark_faces=1) is saved in KZUGPAR.DAT in the SYS directory.

Change an HCM model

To change the HCM model of a composite edge, the corresponding composite edge part needs to be active. The HCM constraints assigned to it are then displayed in the HCM tab of the ICN.

HCM constraints can be changed, as follows:
