Drawing Derivation: Functions

Drawing > Itemisation/Detailing > Derive

Use the functions of the Derive menu to automatically create workshop, detail, overall and production drawings, without having to close your current drawing. The following options are available:

Detail drawings can be created with the Derive Drawing function. The older functions for Steel Engineering detail drawings can still be found at Drawing > Itemisation/Detailing > Derive > Detail drawing - ... .

Important:

• Derived drawings which were not created as sheet views of the current drawing, but in a new drawing, will be automatically saved by HiCAD to the same directory to which the original drawing has been saved. The file name is composed of the prefix "CD" and an automatically generated, unique ID, e.g. CD_263485165.
