Relative Angle + Distance

Relative angle and distance (W)

Relative angle and distance

The new point is defined by specifying the angle and the distance from an existing point, the reference point.

Enter the angle and the distance, e.g. 60 25.

In contrast to the Absolute angle and distance option, the angle does not refer to the x-axis of the coordinate system, but to the line through the last and second-to-last points. If a last point and a second-to-last point are not available, HiCAD asks you to define a reference line.

(1) Second-to-last point, (2) Last point, (3) Found point

If you want to use a different reference line, press the left mouse button after activating the point option. Define the reference line either by identifying an existing line near the start point or by means of two points. If you select a point instead of identifying a line, HiCAD requests the 2nd point for the reference line. The first point corresponds to the start point of the reference line and the second point to its end point.

As with option P, instead of the value input you can also take the angle and the distance from the drawing by using the additional codes Z, L or FA.

When working with the keyboard, you can also use option WL. This is the same as activating option W and entering LL, i.e. applying the last angle and the last distance.

In 3D, the entries refer to a local coordinate system, which needs to have been defined beforehand

Relative angle and X/Y distance (WX, WY)

Relative angle and X/Y distance ,

The new point is defined by specifying the angle and the x-distance from an existing point, the reference point.

In contrast to the Absolute angle and X-distance option, the angle does not refer to the x-axis of the coordinate system, but to the straight line through the last and second-to-last points. If a last point and a second-to-last point are not available, HiCAD asks you to define a reference line.

The distance is interpreted as the coordinate difference in x-direction.
