Create New Symbol

Two options are available if you want to create a new symbol:
To each symbol belong files with the extensions .ISY, .EMF and FGA.
Draw new symbol
To draw a new 2-D symbol., proceed as follows:
- First, specify a folder to which you want to save the symbol.
- Click the New symbol button and enter a name for the symbol. The new entry with the specified symbol name is added to the symbol overview.
- Use the 2-D geometry functions to draw the symbol.
- Specify 1, 2 or 3 named points – depending on the symbol drawn.
- When you have completed the symbol drawing, activate the Symbol Editor context menu by right-clicking the symbol name in the symbol overview.
- Select the <- Create symbol from drawing function.
Copy and change symbol
If you want to modify an already existing symbol, proceed as follows:
- First, specify a folder to which you want to save the symbol.
- Click the New symbol button and enter a name for the symbol. The new entry with the specified symbol name is added to the symbol overview.
- In the symbol overview, right-click the symbol you want to copy, and select the Copy symbol option from the context menu.
- Right-click the new symbol entry and select the Insert symbol option in the context menu.
- Activate the context menu again and select the -> Take over symbol to drawing option.
- Specify the position of the symbol in the drawing.
- Carry out the required modifications and specify, if required, the appropriate named points.
- When you have completed the processing, activate the Symbol Editor context menu by right-clicking the symbol name in the symbol overview.
- Select the <- Create symbol from drawing function.
