Project: HiCAD Plant Engineering

Place Other Pipe Parts on Guidelines

Plant Engineering > Pipe parts > Other pipe parts

In flow direction / Against flow direction

Plant Engineering > Pipe parts > Other pipe parts > In flow direction / Against flow direction ,

  1. First, select the required part type from the Selection dialogue box displayed on your screen, and then specify the appropriate type of insertion.
  2. Select the guideline on whose start or endpoint the part is to be attached. HiCAD appropriately aligns the local coordinate system.
  3. Specify the search criteria in the list of characteristics and display the appropriate result list.
  4. Select a part from the list.
  5. HiCAD issues a prompt indicating that you can only append the part to the line - not set on it. Confirm the prompt.
  6. Call the Reference Point menu and select Connection 1. The part hangs, with this reference point, on the cursor.
  7. Select the insertion point, i.e. the start or end point of the selected guideline.
  8. After insertion, HiCAD displays the Rotation angle dialogue window. Rotate the part into the required position. The selected guideline has been pre-set as the rotation axis. If the part is not attached with Connection 1 to the guideline, you can, after completion of this function, invoke the Move+Rotate part function to move the part to the required position.
  9. Respond to the query (same part ...) with Cancel.
  10. You can now either select another guideline and insert a part, or press the MMB to end the function.

Connect part

Plant Engineering > Pipe parts > Other pipe parts > Connect

  1. Select the required part type from the Selection dialogue box displayed on your screen.
  2. Specify the search criteria in the list of characteristics and display the appropriate result list.
  3. Select a part from the list.
  4. HiCAD issues a prompt indicating that you can only append the part to the line - not set on it. Confirm the prompt
  5. Call the Reference point menu and select the connection surface of the part to which you want to connect the part. If you invoke the Select connecting point option, you can use the Autopilot and point option J to snap the connecting point on the start or end of a selected guideline on the connection surface to which you want to attach the part.
  6. After insertion, HiCAD displays the Rotation angle dialogue window. Rotate the part into the required position. The connection surface vector has been pre-set as the rotation axis.
  7. Respond to the query (same part ...) with Cancel.
  8. You can now either select another guideline and insert a part, or press the MMB to end the function.
