Project: HiCAD 3-D

Fillet - Select Objects

3-D Standard > Process > Fillet

You use the cursor in the drawing to identify the edges/surfaces to be filleted. The last selected object is highlighted in blue in the drawing (default), all other objects being highlighted in green. All selected objects are entered in the list of objects to be filleted contained in the Fillet window.

When working with the Variable filleting functions, please note the following:

In contrast to the constant filleting, where the filleting radius is equal (constant) at all points of the filleted edge, you can choose different fillet radii on the start and end points of the selected edges as well as on any other intermediate points. The variable fillet can either be performed linearly or with tangentialborderconnection.

If you have selected the variable filleting from the Fillet options, proceed as follows:

  1. Identify the first edge that you want to be filleted using the previously defined setting. The selected edge is entered in the object list.
  2. HiCAD is then in Insert intermediate points mode, which is indicated in the Fillet window by the symbol in the bottom left corner of the object list.

You can then insert intermediate points into the edge. Use the Autopilot or the HiCAD point options to specify these points in the drawing. Note that the same fillet radius is initially used for all points in the object list. To change the radius of the points, click the radius in question in the object list of the Fillet window and simply enter the new value.

If you do not want any more intermediate points to be inserted, then you must switch back – if you want to identify more edges – to edge selection mode. To do this, in the object list click the Activate/Deactivate point selection symbol. The symbol switches to . Alternatively, you can also click an empty line in the object list. HiCAD then automatically switches to Edge selection mode. The symbol is then faded out.

To insert intermediate points subsequently into an edge of the object list, place the cursor on the relevant object entry and then activate the Insert intermediate points mode by clicking the symbol.

  1. Repeat the preceding steps if you want to fillet more edges using different parameters. All selected edges are highlighted in green in the drawing, while the last selected edge is highlighted in blue. Please note that all identified edges must belong to the same part.

Please note that all identified edges must belong to the same part.
