Chamfer

3-D Standard > Process > Chamfer

The Chamfer dialogue window is displayed for chamfering edges, facets and corners.

General procedure:

  1. Choose the object type that you want to chamfer, Edges, Facets or Corners.
  2. Choose the desired input type and make the required value inputs. The Tangential c-edge checkbox is also available for chamfering edges and facets. Activate this checkbox if, when chamfering an edge, you want all tangentially adjoining edges to be chamfered.
  3. Identify - depending on object type - the edges and facets or the corners that you want to be chamfered using the currently selected settings. The last selected object is highlighted in blue in the drawing (default), with all other selected objects being highlighted in green. All selected objects are entered into the object list of the chamfer window:

Edge (also composite edges and cycles)
    Surface
    Corner

The number behind the object type is a consecutive number assigned by HiCAD. If you want to check which edge/surface in the drawing belongs to an entry in the object list, simply click the field containing the object type. The corresponding edge/surface is highlighted in colour in the drawing.

Conversely, you can also select a chamfer in the drawing, which results in the corresponding entry in the object list being highlighted.

  1. Check the chamfers in the Preview mode and correct the settings, if necessary.
  2. Apply the chamfers to the drawing.

Buttons

This button activates or ends the preview. When the preview is activated, the Chamfer button is replaced by the Apply button.

All objects mentioned in the list are chamfered. The object list is deleted, while the input window remains open.

All objects mentioned in the list are chamfered. The object list is deleted and the input window is closed.

The input window is closed without taking the entries in the object list into account.

Instead of clicking Apply in the dialogue window, you can also press the middle mouse button (MMB) to apply the chamfer.

You can use the bottom right corner of the dialogue window to enlarge the window.

You can also select the Preview, Apply, Execute and Close options via a context menu. You activate this menu by right-clicking outside the input window.
