Access Rights for Externally Referenced Parts

If you are working with HELiOS and load a drawing containing referenced
parts with a document master, HiCAD checks to see whether you have access
 rights for these parts.

            - Referenced
parts with access rights are marked in the ICN by the
symbol once the drawing has been loaded.
You can process,
i.e. change, save, delete etc., these parts.
            - Referenced
parts without access rights are marked in the ICN by the
 symbol.
If you process a part marked in red, a dialogue window containing the
following options appears when you first make a change to the part:

            - Discard
 changes

The change that you have made is undone and, instead, the current KRA
file is re-loaded. This means that the state of the part that was current
after loading the drawing is restored.
            - Delete
 referencing

Referencing is removed and the changes retained. The marking of the
part in the ICN is changed accordingly.
            - Retain
 changes until next saving

The change is initially retained until the next time the drawing is saved.
The depicted dialogue no longer appears if further changes are made to
the part. The part cannot be saved. The red marking in the ICN is retained.
When the drawing is saved, the dialogue window is displayed again. You will
then need to choose between the Discard changes and
 Delete referencingandRetain changes... options.

Activate the desired option field and click OK to
 exit the window.

If a drawing contains a referenced part with a document master which cannot
be found in the active database, e.g. when being processed by external
offices with their own database, the setting in the Configuration Editor, at System settings > Referencing > Entered document master not in DB: -> Referenced part locked? determines whether the part is locked or released.
The default setting is No, i.e. the parts are locked.
