Dimensioning Tools - Parametric Dimensions

In many cases, HiCAD automatically creates parametric dimensionings during creation or modelling of parts. This usually applies to solid primitives, extruded solids, but also to fillets and chamfers or bores and subtractions. Dimensional HCM constraints are also applied as parametric dimensions.

Such parametric dimensions can be hidden or shown using the functions of the Dimensioning Tools menu or converted into "genuine" dimensions.

The following functions are available to the user:

Show parametric dimensions in sheet views

3-D Dimensioning + Text > Tools > Extras > Parametric dimensions, Show in sheet views

This function enables you to display parametric dimensions in sheet views as well.

Note:

Hide parametric dimensions in sheet views

3-D Dimensioning + Text > Tools > Extras > Parametric dimensions, ... hide, all in part / all

Use this function to hide parametric dimensions. The following options are available:

Hides all parametric dimensions of the drawing

Hides all parametric dimensions of the active part.

Hide parametric dimensions in sheet views, all

Hides all parametric dimensions of the drawing.

The following options are available:

To make completely hidden parametric dimensions visible again, use the Part Properties/Visualisation of Parametric Dimensions function.

Convert parametric dimension into drawing dimension

3-D Dimensioning + Text > Tools > Extras > Convert > Parametric dimensions, Convert into drawing dimension

This function enables you to apply parametric dimensions as drawing dimensions, i.e. standard dimensions.

You can choose whether you want to convert

only individual parametric dimensions,

all parametric dimensions of the active part,

all parametric dimensions of the entire drawing or

all dimension within one or several rectangles (right-click to conclude the rectangle creation).
