Running Dimensions

2-D Dimensioning + Text > Direct > Running dimension

2-D Dimensioning + Text > Direct > Running dimension > Running dimension, variable

So-called "running dimensions" are chain dimensions with the same reference point. The dimension figures refer to this point..

  1. Identification of the reference point (start point of the first dimension) and of the second point (end point of the first dimension).
  2. Determination of the third point with respect to the position of the dimension line.
  3. Definition of the succeeding points.

The dimension figures are automatically placed at the end of each dimension unit, perpendicular to the dimension line.

In the case of variable dimensioning, a line can be identified, instead of the first two points, which then gives rise to angular dimensioning.
