HELiOS & EPLAN

The HELiOS - EPLAN Electric P8 interface enables you to manage EPLAN documents with HELiOS, share and exchange article and BOM data. In conjunction with the existing CAD interfaces of HELiOS you can manage CAD and electrical engineering data and make them available in various systems.

The following data are exchanged between EPLAN and HELiOS and are made available to all users of the HELiOS - EPLAN interface:

Article data from EPLAN:

The article data from EPLAN are synchronized with HELiOS article masters. In both systems, the article number will be saved from the respective other system to ensure that the link between EPLAN article and HELiOS article can be established at any time.

The list of exchanged article attributes can be configured for both directions. Therefore, only attributes that are relevant for the interface between the two systems will be transferred. Furthermore, you can configure in which direction an attribute can be transferred (EPLAN -> HELiOS, HELiOS -> EPLAN, or both directions). Classification data can also be transferred.

In the process you can also define in EPLAN which articles are to be relevant for the HELiOS interface.

Project data from EPLAN:

For an EPLAN project, the corresponding zw1 file (and, if required, other exported files (e.g. PDF, DXF, DWG, TIF)) is exchanged as a HELiOS document master that is in turn linked to the HELiOS article master of the EPLAN project.

Project attributes (EPLAN project head data) are synchronized with a HELiOS article master and , if desired, also with a HELiOS project.

The BOM selected by the user is transferred, as a product structure, to the HELiOS article master of the EPLAN project.

Not exchanged are documents that are linked within EPLAN to the EPLAN articles (e.g. the producer's documentation). These documents are part of the EPLAN installion and can only be accessed from EPLAN. The concept for these documents is similar to that for standard parts within the HELiOS-MultiCAD interfaces.

The linking of the article and document attributes will then also enable the use of HELiOS attributes within EPLAN projects.
