        EDBSETUP.EXE > Workflow > Workflow > Edit
        A workflow shows the sequence of processes required for an object. A workflow 
should only be changed if all objects (e.g. 3-D drawings) are either in their 
initial status (In Progress) or in 
the end status (Released). 
        When an object is in an intermediate phase, any changes may result in 
discrepancies. 
        As the process sequence influences the entire system, objects with a 
standardised process chain should not be changed. 
        
            - Select Workflow > Workflow > Edit. The Edit workflow dialogue window will be displayed. 
            - Select the workflow object 
 you want to process from the drop-down list. The Object Access, which you 
 can modify here, will be shown. 
- The Object-related 
 actions field enables you to define actions which can be executed when 
 processing a specific type of object (e.g. 3-D drawings, projects, 
 articles). 
            - Create: 
 Permission to create (e.g. within the HiCAD function New drawing) a specific 
 type of object (e.g. a 3-D drawing, i.e. HiCAD document). 
- Versioning: Original index: Actions that are performed upon corrections (e.g. with the HiCAD function "Save drawing, with database, as revised drawing") or versioning of an object type  (e.g. 3-D drawing, As HiCAD document). The action list of the ... Orignal index option refers to the old index. 
- Versioning: New index: Same as above, but refers to the new index, i.e. the action list will be executed for the changed version of the object. 
- Delete: Permission to delete (e.g. a HiCAD drawing) a specific 
 type of object (e.g. a 3-D drawing, i.e. HiCAD document). 
- Implicit
 release:  Permission to make an implicit 
 (=forced) release (e.g. e-mail to certain employees). 
- Target 
 status: Selection of the directory for the forced release. 
The Workflow scheme can be displayed via the Open function and can be 
edited with the functions of the Toolbar. 
        If no document is accessing a Workflow object it may be removed from the 
database with the Delete function. 
         
        
        
        Save Workflow as ... 
        EDBSETUP.EXE > Workflow > Workflow > Save as....
        This function enables you to save an existing Workflow with a different name. 
It can then be used as a basis for a new Workflow.  
        
            - First load the Workflow 
 you want to use as a basis. Select Workflow > Edit. The Edit workflow window is displayed. Click the Open button to load the workflow. 
- Select Workflow >
    Workflow > Save 
 as ... function and enter a new name. 
- Specify a type and a group 
 or several groups. 
- Save the Workflow with Add. 
Now you can modify the workflow plan and save these modifications via the Save icon in the Toolbar. 
         
        
        
        Delete Workflow
        EDBSETUP.EXE > Workflow 
 > Object
        To delete an existing Workflow proceed as follows:
        
            - Select the Object function from the Workflow menu. The Workflow object window 
 will be displayed. 
            - Click on the button to the 
 right of the text field Designation. 
A list of all Workflows will be displayed. Select a type of object to 
narrow the list. 
        
            - Select the Workflow you 
 want to delete. 
- Now activate Delete, 
 and exit the mask with Close. 
The selected Workflow will be deleted. 
         
        
             Please make sure that you do not delete a Standard Workflow. 
If other programs use a Workflow, its deletion will not be possible.

        Create 
New Workflow Status
        EDBSETUP.EXE > Workflow 
 > Status
        A Workflow (process plan) is made up of a sequence of statuses that determine 
the progression of an object. Up to 100 user-defined statuses can be created 
enabling you to define a process plan tailored to fit your particular 
application.  
        A process plan comprises a start status (concept) followed by a succession of 
intermediate stages until the object reaches the end status (e.g. 
completion of manufacturing). 
        To create a new status, select Workflow in the menu bar, then select Status. If you want to insert a new status in the active process plan, 
click the Create New Workflow Status symbol.

            - Select Workflow from the menu bar, then select Status. 
- Now select the Add option. 
- Enter a name for the 
 status in the Designation box.
- Activate the grey box 
 next to Symbol. 
- The standard mask to 
 load files will be displayed. You can load an optional file as an icon, 
 having the extension *.ICO, with 32x32 pixels and 16 colours. All common 
 graphics programs (e.g. Microsoft Paint) support this format, enabling you 
 to design you own icons. 
- Load an ICO file and 
 exit the window with Open.
The new status will now be available to all 
Workflows.
