Variant Functions (VarEdit)

The following processing tools are available for variants:

Derive new	Derives a new variant from an existing variant. .
Open	Opens an existing variant for processing.
Edit repr. *	If a VAA archive has been loaded, you can use this option to edit the graphic files contained in the archive.
Structure *	Converts an active simple variant into a (structured) base variant. (only for simple variants)
Edit structure*	Modifies the structure of a base variant.(only for structured variants)
Import	Imports data records of another variant.
Export	Exports the parameter table of the current variant as a text file
Save	Saves the current variant.
Close	Closes the current variant.
End	Closes the Variant Editor.

Please note:

If a variant is currently active, when you activate the buttons Derive new, Open or End , the Editor displays the following query Save modifications to variant file?

Yes	The program saves the variant. If you changed the name of a variant created with New or of a variant that was loaded with Open, the Editor redisplays the name for confirmation or alteration.
No	The program saves the variant. Abandons changes you did not save.
Cancel	You continue processing the open variant.
