Measuring Point (P+ID)

P+ID > Connections > Measuring point, with circle

P+ID > Connections > C.Pt. > Measuring point, without circle

A gauge symbol is normally linked to other P+ID symbols by a signal connection, whereby connections between symbol connecting points are created. It is however often necessary to represent the location of a measuring point independent of symbol connections, i.e. in a vessel symbol or on a pipe joint. This function enables you to position a measuring point in an optional location that can also be the starting point of a signal connection.

The following options are available:

Please note:

You can set line parameter values for measuring points and diameters with the Connections option in theSettings tab.
If possible, please retain the default setting Layer No. 3!

Measuring point, with circle

P+ID > Connections > Measuring point, with circle

This function enables you to set a measuring point on an arbitrary location with the cross-hairs, whereby this location is also the start point of a signal connection line.

If the start point is set in the area of a symbol to which an gauge symbol can be assigned, it is marked.

You can now set any required intermediate points and the connection line end point that should be the connecting point for a gauge symbol. A circle is created on the start point of the connection line. Irrespective of pre-determined settings, the first section of the connection line can be created in any direction.

If a gauge symbol has not been assigned to a symbol, HiCAD asks:

Assign gauge symbol to selected symbol?

Measuring point, without circle

P+ID > Connections > C.Pt. > Measuring point, without circle

Basically, this function is handled in the same way as the Measuring point with circle function with the exception that:
