Automatic Actions (P+ID)
P+ID > Symbol > Move > Transform ...
Transforming symbols may entail automatic actions for
which depend on symbol type and specific pre-settings.
General type, Pipe part
If the symbol is positioned so that one or more of its connecting points are placed on the connections of existing symbols, a direct link is created whenever possible. This is indicated by an appropriate message. A connection line is not drawn for direct connections.
- If you insert a drive or gauge symbol, it is automatically assigned to the symbol to which it is attached;
- If the superior symbol is a General type, its code (for identifiers according to DIN) or aggregate designation (for KKS ID’s) under the dialogue type Device, superior is transferred to the inserted symbol.
- If the superior symbol is a Pipe part type, its entry for the dialogue types Pipeline No. and Local consecutive No. are taken over by the inserted symbol. A drive symbol also takes over the entry made for the Plant code, Plant unit and Aggregate from the superior symbol. With the exception of the device designation (it has its own); this also applies to the gauge symbol.
- If both the moved symbol and the symbol to which it is directly attached belong to the type Pipe part, and a pipeline symbol has already been assigned to the last symbol, the inserted symbol is assigned to the same pipeline. The number of the pipeline and the newly assigned local consecutive number will be entered in the data mask of the inserted symbol.
Pipeline
If an idenifier according to KKS has been set, the pipeline symbol is graphically represented by a tag. This tag contains the pipe-line designation and points in the direction of flow. If the symbol, i.e. the tag, is moved or rotated, HiCAD automatically checks to see if the foot of the tag leader is set on a pipe connection belonging to the same pipeline and points in the direction of flow.
Discontinuation symbol
With this type of symbol, reference entries for any matching symbols in the data mask of are updated to correspond with new positions.
Pipe part
If you use the Move symbol function to place a symbol of the type Pipe part with its fitting point on a pipe connection which is not attached to this symbol, the following happens:
- If pipe connections are attached to the symbol: The previously attached connections are deleted and, if possible, replaced by a continuous connection.
- If the symbol is not aligned in the direction of the connection in which it is inserted, it will be automatically aligned in the correct direction.
- The connection on which the symbol has been positioned is replaced by two connections in direction of the symbol.
