Create Icon from Symbol (P+ID)

P+ID Library > Symbol > Create icon from symbol

Use this function to create an icon to call a pop-up menu, it is irrelevant whether a library, library symbol or flow-chart sheet is currently open. As symbol text on icons can be irritating, you can hide it by activating the Drawing tab and selecting Visualisation > Hide/Show, Via element type > Text.

Proceed as follows:

1. Select the appropriate symbol with the cross-hairs.
2. Select the required background colour from the pop-up menu that appears on your screen.
3. Enter the name (without extension) of the file to which the icon should be saved in the input field. HiCAD then displays a preview of the new icon.

4. You can either select the next symbol and create another icon or press the right button to exit the function.

The icon file is saved to the \MAKRO2D\IMAGE folder and is automatically given the extension .EMF.
