P+ID > Settings > Process > Edit symbol pop-up menu
Instead of identifying a symbol, you can call a pop-up menu with additional options by right-clicking a button in the pop-up menu.
In this section, we refer to the button clicked before the pop-up menu was displayed as the selected button.
Function |
Description |
---|---|
Insert button |
A dummy (empty) button is inserted in the same row in front of the selected button. The selected button and all following assigned buttons are appropriately shifted. If a dummy button exists on the right of the selected button in the same row, only buttons to the left are moved to the right thereby replacing the dummy button. If a dummy but-ton is not available in the same row, the movement is extended to the following row(s), e.g. the last button in the row is shifted to the first position in the next row etc. |
Move button |
If you select Move button, HiCAD re-displays the pop-up menu. You can then click a dummy button and replace it by the previously selected button. |
Delete button |
If the selected button is assigned to an P+ID symbol, HiCAD asks whether the assigned icon file should be deleted. If you are sure that you no longer need the icon, respond with Yes. HiCAD now deletes the selected button, and pushes all al-located buttons in the same row one position to the left. A new dummy button is positioned in front of the next un-assigned button. If a dummy button does not exist in the same row, a dummy button is created at the end of the row. The buttons in the next row are not moved. (If required, you can delete the new dummy button from the end of the row and move buttons back from the next row.) |
Add column |
Select any button and add a new column on the right-hand side of the pop-up menu. |
Insert column |
A new (blank) column is inserted on the left side of the selected button. |
Delete column |
The column containing the selected button is deleted. |
Add row |
A new row is created on the lower boundary of the pop-up menu. The position of the selected button is irrelevant. |
Insert row |
A new (blank) row is inserted above the row containing the selected button. |
Delete row |
The row containing the selected button is deleted. |
Remove button assignment |
If the selected button belongs to an P+ID symbol, HiCAD asks if the assigned icon file should be deleted. |
Edit button assignment |
The selected button data are displayed in a dialogue box and can be changed. If you want to assign a different icon to the selected button, click the button next to the input field and pick the required EMF file from the list that appears on your screen. If you want to assign an R&I symbol to the selected button, click the button on the right of the input field and pick the required symbol group from the displayed list. The selected symbol group is now graphically displayed on your screen. Use the cross-hairs to select and then take over an enlarged image of the represented symbol. You can also change the auxiliary text assigned to the selected button. Enter the new text in the appropriate input field. |
Change number of columns/rows |
The dialogue box displayed enables you to specify the number of columns and rows required for the processed pop-up menu. Caution: The values shown in input fields are only suggestions and do not represent current values. Assigned buttons can be "excluded" from the pop-up menu if the number of items in the newly specified pop-up menu falls below the number of assigned buttons. |
