The form and orientation of variable symbols are first determined when they are inserted in a P+ID. Variable symbols for conveyors, stored in the HiCAD FLISYB_1 library, are examples of this type of symbol.
The symbol graphic in the symbol library only consists of:
An adequate number of connecting points should be specified in the data mask for subsequent insertion in the P+ID.
The name of a variable library symbol should end with the character "_V". The actual symbol graphic for variable symbols is not saved to the SZA file of the symbol library but is determined by a macro file with the name extension "MAC". The macro contained in this file is executed when the symbol is inserted in a P+ID sheet. Macro files of variable library symbols are saved to the same directory as library files, i.e. the HiCAD sub-directory ...\PID\LIBS.
