Nominal dimensions shown in the corresponding entry and text fields of dialogue boxes can, irrespective of given settings, be displayed in mm and inches, or alternatively in mm or in inches.
A nominal diameter can, irrespective of given settings, be expressed in any of the ways listed above. An inch entry can be recognised by the " character. Please remember that only inch values included in a HiCAD assignment list are accepted. This table is saved in the ANINCHTABLE.DAT file in HiCAD’s EXE sub-directory. If necessary, you can add a maximum of 50 lines containing nominal diameter assignments. It is possible to insert lines between existing lines.
Internally HiCAD only works with nominal diameters expressed in mm. The value output for a nominal dimension is therefore based on the mm value and the assignment table.
