Working with User-Defined Configuration Templates
HiCAD can be individually adjusted to customer-specific needs via a multitude of parameters. Most of these adjustments can be saved in the form of so-called "configuration templates". You can then use your own, company-specific configurations instead of the predefined ISD configurations.
HiCAD can be adapted to individual, customer-specific requirements via a multitude of parameters. Most of these adjustments can be saved to so-called “Configuration templates”. You can then use your own, company-specific configurations instead of the predefined ISD configurations supplied with the software.
The following settings can be specified via configuration templates:
- Settings from DAT files
All settings which can be made via the DAT files of the HiCAD SYS directory can also be specified in the configuration templates.
- Using your own FGA files
You can also use your own drawing frames instead of the predefined ISD drawing frames and title bocks supplied with the software (these are available as FGA files in the SZENEN subdirectory). Please note that they need to be available in the FGA format and have the same name as the original file.
- Using your own RMS files
RMS files contain the BOM settings for the Report Manager. The original ISD files are located in the SYS subdirectory of HiCAD.
- Using your own MSK files
MSK files determine the layout of the dialogue masks during working with the HELIOS PDM functions. The original files are located in the SYS subdirectory of HiCAD.
- Using your own files in other formats
In addition to the above mentioned files, you can also use FTD files (annotation settings), HDB and HDX files (e.g. attribute masks). The original files are located in the SYS subdirectory of HiCAD.
- Variables of the Configuration Manager (as of Version 1700)
The assigning of configurations created with the HiCAD Configuration Manager (ISDConfigEditor.exe) to variables can be modified.
- Completing Registry entries
Particular, HiCAD-specific entries in the Windows Registry can be changed as well. They can, for exam-ple, be filled with values (Dword) or texts (String).
Changes and adjustments going beyond the possibilities described in this document can be offered as consulting services – please feel free to contact us!
Please note:
The Configuration Editor allows the definition of customer-specific configurations for a wide variety of use cases, such as dimensioning, annotations, workshop drawing generation or fitting of vertical ladders. Once adjusted to company-specific requirements, these configurations can directly be used in the end user's HiCAD applications without having to define any further settings. The configurations should only be created or modified by experienced users.
