Flange Gasket (PE)

Plant Engineering > Settings > Plant Engineering Settings > Part selection: Flange gasket

In this area you specify how flange gaskets (seals) are to be handled. You can select between different options for automatic flange gasket determination. If flange gaskets are considered, they will be automatically inserted as 3-D parts together with the flange, if the corresponding (setting-dependent) conditions are met (the older options that enabled a taking into account of the gasket thickness without displaying the gasket as a 3-D part is no longer available).

Do not include
If you select this option, flange gaskets are not considered in the layout plan.

Via 'DICHTUNG' attribute (DICHTUNG=German for "Gasket"/"Seal")
If you select this setting, a gasket will be considered if in the part data record of the part to be inserted, a standard designation (or a corresponding search criterion) for an existing gasket variant has been entered for the DICHTUNG attribute. This means that each inserted flange connection of this part will be equipped with the corresponding gasket (i.e. if the connection is not made to a gasket).

Examples: DIN 2690 or *2690*.

If this option is active, the option Pipe class also applies to gasket will also be available.

Via accessory set
If this option is activated, the product structure of the linked accessory set is searched for a matching gasket component.

This option is only available if the Include accessory sets option has been activated. In this case, pipe class and BOM options are not available.

Specify fixed standard
This setting allows you to assign a fixed standard designation (or a corresponding search criterion) to an existing gasket variant. This value then applies to all flange connections.

Example: DIN 2690 or *2690*.

The following option is only available if the Include accessory sets option has been deactivated, and one of the options Via 'DICHTUNG' attribute and Specify fixed standard has been activated.

Pipe class also applies to gasket
If you select this option, gaskets are included in pipe class searches. If the option Include accessory sets is active, this option is not available.

If the Include accessory set option has been activated, and also one of the options Via 'DICHTUNG' attribute and Specify fixed standard, a gasket that might exist in the accessory set will be ignored.

The 3-D part of the gasket will always be assigned to the part that supplied the gasket. It is, however, no sub-part to this part!

A gasket cannot be deleted separately, but only together with the part that supplied it.

A part that supplies a gasket, will also be handled in such a way as if it had supplied accessory parts (automatic insertion). This means that the part to which the connection is made supplies neither gasket nor any accessory parts.

If you work with accessory parts and gaskets which are not included in the accessory set, please make sure that the part that supplies the accessory parts also needs to supply the gasket.
