Move Part (3-D)

3-D Standard > Transform > Move

You use these functions to move the current object by specifying a displacement vector. The following options are available for the specification of the vector:

Function

Move part, via 2 points (direct)

Specification of the start point and end point of the displacement.

Move part, in edge direction

Identification of an edge that exists in the drawing. The direction of the displacement vector is determined by the position of the identification point. If the identification point lies to the left of the midpoint of the edge, the vector will have a has a positive direction; if not, it will be negative.

Move part, 2-D via 2 points

Specification of two 2-D points

Move part, 2-D via 2 lines

Identification of two parallel 2-D graphical elements. The perpendicular (in 2-D) is dropped from the first line to the middle of the second line.

Move part, 2 points + length

As above, but, in addition, the length of the displacement vector can be specified.

Move part, Perpendicular Point->Edge

Perpendicular from a point to be specified to an edge to be identified.

Move part, Perpendicular Point->Surface

Perpendicular from a point to a surface or its enlargement.

Move part, Vertical to surface

A surface normal. You can specify the surface by:

  • identifying two edges,
  • identifying an edge and specifying a point,
  • specifying three points,
  • defining a surface. The plane is determined by means of the normal vectors.

The vector start lies in the edge end that is closer to the 1st identification point. The vector stands perpendicular on the selected surface.

Move part, In dimension direction

Identification of a dimensioning. The vector lies on the dimension line.

Move+Rotate part

Moves and rotates the current object by specifying the displacement vector and the rotation axis.

Move+Rotate part, via fitting points

Moves and rotates the current object by specifying "fitting point pairs".

Last transformation, To new part

Applies the last transformation to another part. Please note however that the last executed scaling will not be considered.

Once the vector has been specified, HiCAD displays its length in all cases. You can accept the displayed value for the displacement or modify it.
